Minho
"Lenço dos namorados" or "Lover's handkerchief" is originally from Minho, Portugal - 17th century. Young women embroidered cotton or linen handkerchiefs with messages and symbols and offered them to boys. If the boy wore the handkerchief publicly it meant that he reciprocated the feelings. If he returned, the courtship did not begin. We embroidered the words "saudade" and "amor" hoping you'll reciprocate our feelings too!
Let's live carnival all year long!
